Design Brief
For this project, we were asked to create a promotional item that represents ourselves, to be handed out during our Senior Graphic Design Show. This event allows each student to showcase their portfolio and network for potential job opportunities. I decided to design a coffee mug because of my passion for coffee and coffee mugs. To complement this, I paired the mug with a simple packaging dieline, reflecting my love for packaging design and my interest in pursuing a career in that area of graphic design.

Research
I researched several ways I could create a coffee mug design that represented me as well as packaging. I found many interesting dielines, but decided on a more simple approach which I felt also represented desire to create little packaging and minimize my carbon footprint.

Sketches
I wanted to created sketches and icons that I felt represented me and my interests. I am very passionate about plants and gardening, I love spooky things, and I am a huge believer in conservation.

Digital Iterations
My digital iterations were mostly successful, but I did run into some issues. I had to change some of my designs initially because my Cricut could not cut such fine lines. I finally decided to make these fun illustrations my outside design packaging and screen printed them onto my dieline which I cut out using my Cricut.

Typography
I wanted to incorporate the primary typeface from my logo into the design, ensuring both typefaces are represented in my graphic design logo.
Color Palette
The colors I chose were rainbow as well as a hint orange for the main outside part of my packaging. The orange is used because it is my favorite color and the rainbow color I chose because I thought it was fun and engaging to have variety from my normal orange color palette.
